London Book Fair
April 18, 2008 by hesperuspress
A fleeting Friday note before I depart to collapse from post-Book Fair exhaustion. How was it for you? Despite not seeing natural light for three days and feeling frighteningly as though I was, in fact, in a spaceship, it was lovely as ever to meet up with some agents, translators, foreword writers, VIPs and assorted bookie types (that’s you, Mark) and put some faces to names - or, to be precise, to email addresses, such is the nature of the industry nowadays. We ligged and pilfered our way through the event (best canapĂ© - chorizo and potato at the Nordic reception, hands down) and have emerged slightly the worse for wear, but full of the joys of new books, new contacts and new directions. Of which more next week…

Excellent to see you (and Katya) too Ellie.
I’ve still not really recovered. LBF always drains the lifeblood … It is simultaneously a drag to have to cram so much into a few days but a thrill to meet up with folk you’ve been emailing for the last year or more …
Best embassy: the Spanish one!
